The 3 best things about being a Perinatal Hypnotherapist

Being a Perinatal Hypnotherapist is a rewarding and meaningful career. More parents are choosing this modality of therapy because it's fast gentle and effective.

I didn’t start my hypnotherapy practice as a Perinatal Hypnotherapist BUT most of my work has always been with parents.

I love working with parents because they are usually very motivated to feel healthy and well. They want to be the best for their children, and they know that starts with their own mental health and resilience.

More parents are choosing this modality of therapy because it's fast, gentle and effective and because The Birth Republic offers access to therapy for parents who are pregnant or with children up to 2 years old.

In fact, there are lots of reasons why I love my job, but here are the top 3 best things about being a Perinatal Hypnotherapist.

1.      Knowing that a parent has gone from struggle, depression, fear and constant anxiety to thriving confidently, sometimes after just 3 sessions, is an incredible feeling. It gives my life real meaning and purpose.

2.      I always learn something new from every person I work with. I love the element of surprise and the constant novelty that this job offers me. While the framework and skills are consistent, each person responds uniquely, which I love witnessing.

3.      The moment that a client realises that they were never broken, at fault, or shameful in the first place and in an instant, they are returned to wholeness, health and wellbeing. This is a real buzz for me and a magic moment.

Rona, a woman I supported last year summed it up when she wrote to me:

'I wanted to say thank you so much for our three sessions.

The impact of your three sessions has been life changing. I can’t believe how effective just three sessions have been. I feel like a different person from our first session. I am now able to access my old life and sense of self again. I now feel on the right path for our new family going forward and can start to move on and look forward to the future.

This support was so quick and accessible. Your kind, clear and inclusive approach made it very manageable.

I cannot recommend your support highly enough. It would be so beneficial if more, if not all new mums, were able to access this unique and effective support at such a transformative time.

The impact for women, their families, their communities and their work, should not be underestimated. You are a magician.' Rona

I would love for more professionals to join me in this this quiet revolution in perinatal mental health.

As The Birth Republic grows we need more properly qualified perinatal therapists to support the many parents seeking specialist therapy.

If you care about the 30% of parents impacted by birth trauma, or the 20% struggling with PND or the further 20% living with the debility effects of perinatal anxiety then we would love to hear from you.
